NMS HOT POST 2023/05/14

My starships that I’ve discovered and posted in the last 4-5 years. Thanks to No Man’s Sky for creating an amazing game, with such an unbelievable variety of starships, and giving all of us something to do on a Saturday night! I don’t know what I’d do without it!

Be Excellent to Each Other...

I’ve now completed the Beachhead Expedition twice (on PS5 and PC), and both times I encountered trolls who thought it would be funny to try and seal off something from other players. From crashed ships boxed in via a base to Traveler graves either boxed in or even erased via a carefully placed comm ball.

If you come across something like this, it’s trivial to defeat. For a base, report the base and it will vanish, allowing you access whatever was hidden. To report, either access the base computer or bring up your build menu, then bring up the secondary delete/color change menu and go to the right. You’ll find a report option there. Highlight a base part (if you can’t access the base computer) and report it. Same thing with a comm ball. If the object you’re seeking has vanished, save and reload after you’ve reported the base/comm ball and it should reappear.

If you’re one of the mouthbreathers who thinks this is funny, it’s not. It’s a jerk move that annoys experienced players and frustrates beginners. Don’t do it. Remember the words of the Wyld Stallyns…

Be excellent to each other, and party on dudes!

Feel like I'm treading water...

I’ve got about 70 hours in the game and feel like I’m in a rut, grinding for A/B class ships and upgrades, doing the same things over and over… running back and forth between trade posts, space station, base. It’s getting repetitive and I’m kinda not having as much fun as I did to start.

I see players on Reddit with upgraded S class ships, freighters, etc having only put 100-150 hours in the game

I know there really is no wrong way to play the game but obviously I’m not doing it right, either

Any advice to get beyond this plateau I’ve reached?

What should I buy first?

I was playing last night and found some technology worth 15.6 million each. I had a whole stack of 10 that I sold for over 155 million. I’m on my first playthrough (about 5 hours of play time) and was wondering what I should do with my sudden surplus of units. I’m already hunting for a better ship and multi tool but I’m unsure of what else to buy or save for

Just like old times

Just like old times

This game man 💕

I was going to collect salvage data and decided to do it in my first planet. When we began to roam it felt like home, a lot has changed, a lot of distance that I travelled, so upgraded compared to when we’re here, gathering salvage data in a slow paced unlike the early days when I used to rush things, collecting a lot of materials under a minute.

The sun is setting, my minotaur and I spent the rest of the night in our “campfire” then we walked down to memory lane until the sun says good morning again

But fr I just took a lot of photos while collecting my salvage data and when camping, but I always imagine my traveler is having a laugh or a deep convo with my minotaur when having an adventure together lel. I just really love immersing my self and doing role plays.
