Let’s be clear here…I absolutely am addicted to No Man’s Sky…and I love it! I originally purchased the game at launch on the PS4 system. Played for a few hours and wasn’t impressed then dropped it. Fast forward nearly 5-6 years later (and now migrated to PC/Steam gaming) I decided to purchase the game a day or two before posting this. Not exactly sure what peaked my interest in the game. Didn’t see/read about any updates or videos regarding the game, just simply wanted to play it again. So I purchased it…..BEST.DECISION.EVER.! I can’t put the game down. I put hours into the game without realizing and continue to put many more. During the short period of time of owning No Man’s Sky, I have already put 20 hours in! I still feel like I have yet to scratch the surface! The addition of multiplayer is amazing. The farming and exploration loop is highly addictive. I still feel like I am aimlessly wandering as I explore and discover upgrades for my ship, exo-suit, and multi-tool. However, it is incredibly fun. Gaming has been a bit dull lately with the current releases and nothing peaked my interest. This game has managed to magically capture that sense of child-like fun I use to experience in the early days of gaming. Wanting to spend hours upon hours without getting bored. Don’t worry I do take regular breaks in sessions and attempt to pry my fingers away from the keyboard to get some sleep before waking up the next day to continue the No Man’s Sky grind. All I got to say is….I love this game! Anyone else addicted? (I created a Reddit account soley because I wanted to share this!) submitted by /u/iCrytastic |

Last night, the IGE crew gathered for some planetside exploring. We met at the space station to ensure we got all the required upgrades we’d need for the task at hand. Our destination was an uncharted charred planet, the landscape dominated by mountains. Grip and power was required. We gathered to compare notes, swap resources, and ensure we were ready. We gathered at the designated outpost and got to wrenching. S class engine upgrades, better tires, and some boosters went in, making sure our rigs could climb the vertical expanses surrounding us. We set out into the unknown. No destination in mind, purely a direction. NORTH was the choice. Compton took the lead, as our most experienced Roamer driver. Pawz and Alex followed, followed by me (Raz), and Kilroy and Enoch a few hundred units back, per usual. We motored along, climbing up the tallest mountains, and yeeting ourselves off enormous cliffs, challenging each other to see who could have the most spectacular wipeouts. Pawz was the clear winner, as while cresting a particularly large hill, he was assaulted by a passing space craft, sending him skyrocketing over the next valley, over the next mountain, and landing somewhere in the next time zone. It was evening before we found where he landed, and celebrated with some IGE Nebula Buds and fireworks. The next morning, we got ready to go, but sadly, our departure was delayed, as Enoch needed to handle some “business.” Day two was equally exciting, and by midday, we had found the highest peak around, and after conquering it, took a moment to take in the views. A few days of roaming on the planet’s surface does wonders for your mood, as you realize that the terrain is so varied, the hills all unique, and the opportunities for fun (such as burying Enoch’s Roamer in the dirt while he’s off chasing something shiny) are what exploring is all about. submitted by /u/RazTheExplorer |

This post will be refreshed every few days. The old post are still available for answering questions in those post.
Below are a few popular questions that we’ve received from our past FAQ thread. As always we ask that everyone be respectful and we welcome everyone’s contribution so have fun!
Q- I’m keen to start a new passive money making pursuit. What are some good ideas or guides post-Waypoint?
A#1-Gold farm, then take that stack and sell it at a terminal (not traders) in systems that sell gold. Sell all your gold to the terminal and crash the economy. Then buy it all back at 80% off discount. You just got free money and keep all the gold. All this takes is an initial investment on a gold farm, then you carry all that gold with you and just sell/buy back when you get to another system that sells gold. With 50 stacks in my ship’s cargo hold, I can make somewhere around 150 million units in each system I do this in.
A#2-Start a Farm, Fusion Igniters or Statis Devices Farm which will increase your profits to 100- 200 mil fairly quickly and you can even send out multiple freighter missions which will help you get aronium, magno-gold, Enriched carbon and more which will increase the profits even more.
A#3-Quickest way I’ve found to make a TON of units: Harvesting Storm Crystals. Find a VERY hot planet that has frequent fire storms. DURING STORMS ONLY – you can see the bright white light from Storm Crystals if you fly around low enough. Fly to them, land, quickly harvest them, get back in your ship and fly to the next before you burn up. Q-Where can I post ships and other cool stuff that I want to share with the public? A-You can always post on this sub and now the NMSGlyphExchange is live! Q-How do I get the Advanced Mining Laser? I don’t have the option to craft one, and the multi-tool upgrade vendor at the space station doesn’t have the blueprint for sale.
A-In order to get it, you have to look for the blueprints in crashed ships or abandoned facilities. You get it from the main story (awakenings) or you can buy it on the anomaly.
Q-What do I actually do in the game? I finished the tutorial, is there anything else beside gathering stuff, building a base and repeat?
A#1-It’s really whatever you want, there’s a base story, (assuming you haven’t completed it already), follow the quest log and you’ll figure it out, but things You’d want to do for end game? You can collect multiple multitools, ships, built a fleet for your freighter, etc.
Q-Is there a planet that is populated by many players, and they built their base close to each others like a city?
A- Yeah its the Galactic Hub Project, Its a place where many people have bases and each day the numbers grow. Please help yourself. There are many factions in NMS that do this, even NMS Pirates Hub.
Q-I’m still pretty early into the game, just making my way to the center of the galaxy, what should I be spending my credits on?
A-Go hang around a outlaw/pirate trading post. Cheapest S-class start at around 8-8.5 million without a trade-in. I recommend Vikeen pirate, as then you have two good and 1 remote chances at high-maneuverability S-class: fighter, solar, exotic.

I love this game and appreciate the countless updates and continued support NMS has received over the years, I really do, but part of me can’t help but be disappointed when a new patch drops and there’s nothing about exploration. Exploration is the heart of this game, it’s what drew most of us here. Yet it seems to have taken the back seat for many years. What happened?
I want new things to see, to do, and to find on planets. New plants, animals, and biomes. Mysteries to uncover, artifacts to find, rare encounters to look forward to. A reason to walk over the next mountainside and see if something special is there. A reason to wander. Some things like this have been added over the years, but not much, and it certainly has not been the priority.
Unfortunately at this point, I don’t think another exploration-focused update is going to happen. But here’s to voicing our hope for it.

To buy upgrades for my capital ship, I’m constantly getting in trouble because I attack other capital ships to steal their modules. This process is painfully slow and sometimes dangerous. Is there a better way to obtain the salvaged frigates modules?

I just started my first permadeath save, in the hope of giving the game a more “lost in the universe” feeling. I didn’t even use the starter ship, thinking, oh it will be more realistic if I have to go find a crashed ship, fix it, then get offworld. H…
