So I’m on my second planet. Just barely getting the gist of things. I saw some depots, shot them with my ship. And now there’s fighter ships after me. I lost my shields, landed, and burrowed home, but they won’t calm down. There’s 4 squares with red dots on the top right so I don’t know if that’s stars or something? I don’t have any personal weapons and my ship is close to dead. I think if I leave the planet on my ship they will just chase me. What do I do?

New to the game and I’m still struggling to understand what items and materials I should keep with me all the time to be able to face any situation and build almost all I need for exploring. I have 50+ hours to the game and my main items in inventory right now are Oxygen, Sodium, Carbon, Chromatic Metal, Life-Support Gel and then Batteries and Tritium in the Ship.

By now, a lot of the original promises for NMS have come true, and we are even getting new features that we haven’t dreamt of at release. However, there is still a fundamental gameplay element that’s missing. We need real physical stars, with planets oribitng around them. It’s so weird playing a space game in which stars are a skybox.
It would also allow adding asteroid belts orbiting stars like our Kuiper belt, instead of asteroids being spread throughout.
I am curious to hear what are your ideas for gameplay mechanics, lore, and content that could be made possible by adding physical stars with functioning orbits into the game.

I always build my bases next to a minor settlement. It’s got a landing pad for other trade ships (or for me to use to save on launch fuel in early game)… and an easily accessible trading hub inside.
Any fun little tips you have for bases?

Probably a dumb question, however I just wanna know how this works before I commit to doing this.
If you find a MT(multi-tool) at a sentinel pillar could you build and upload a base to servers near that pillar for people to grab the MT, or would it be a thing of once someone grabs that multi-tool its just gone and can not be gotten by anyone else? Just wanna know if it’s better to do the base thing or just share the glyph codes for the planet in which I have found a B-Class royal MT.

So I’m trying to put down the storage boxes. However, no matter what I try, they always end up being slightly misaligned when I use the snapping function. I already excavated the ground away underneath and placed a floor for them to sit on. What am I doing wrong? submitted by /u/Herefornow211 |

Somebody’s turned a trade outpost into a base and stuck this huge skull on it. I want one! What is this, a mod or something? Anybody seen one of these before? submitted by /u/Showmebobs |

I used to have expeditions take from 1 hour to 4. And now my shortest timed expedition is 5 hours and the other 4 are 20+ hours. Can anyone help explain why tf that happened? It was fun doing two-4 expeditions in a day. submitted by /u/I…

I’m a collector, and I like keeping unique things. I have a couple of expedition ships, as well as the Atlas Staff from the last expedition. The staff and ships are not in my regular use pool of stuff, but getting rid of them appears to mean that I can’t ever get them back. At the expedition rewards vendor, all these things say “previously claimed.” which I’m assuming means they’re one and done. With such a small number of ships and MT’s that we’re able to keep (relative to the massive number of cool looking stuff you can collect.) I feel like a lot of very precious space is getting eaten up by keeping these unique things.
I feel stuck between a rock and hard place. I want to keep the cool looking unique stuff that I don’t think I can get back if I scrap, but I also would like more room.
Even if we can’t keep anything other than the most essential tech on them in “storage” I think it would be great if we had some way to keep more than just 6 MTs and 12 ships. For a game that’s primarily about seeing everything and discovering stuff, we don’t get much in the way of space for the things that matter.
