So what is the Infestation actually? (lore)

I initially was lead to believe by others that they were related to Korvax Prime, however with Echoes and subsequently the Autophages and the corrupted planets seemed to sink that theory as they instead are what’s most connected to Korvax Prime and the Void Mother/Abyss.

So what is the Infestation then in lore? They don’t seem to be random space bugs considering they can seemingly overtake entire planets and infested terminals possess information of other travelers, yet they are hardly heralded as a threat or even significant the same way the Sentinels or First Spawn were.

Ship building

I wish they would let us own a space station… like finding one of the abandoned ones and converting it into a ship building warehouse where we can strip ships down into parts: Engine, cockpit, wings, solorsails, thrusters etc., then mix and match tho…

How to attract people to join my settlement?

After reading some posts here, I realized that planetary settlements are not a very useful thing, and that this is a saddle from which you will never get off, etc. However, I have a settlement, just for fun. They are easy and fun to manage them, in my mind. I’ve accidentally received a distress call a month ago, came there and defeated Sentinels then I became the overseer of a small Gek settlement C grade with huge debts and no necessary facilities…now it is an A grade settlement with 100% happiness of residents and very good productivity.

However, the number of settlers is growing very slowly. It was 35 on the start, it is 48 now and during this time happiness quadrupled, productivity increased almost five times. Why don’t NPC people want to join? I’m going to go to the nearest space station and organize a campaign “Everyone join my settlement, a personal house and the kind overseerr with a large amount of time online are waiting for you all”!

I’m kidding, of course. What am I doing wrong?

Hi I just started playing No mans Sky like genuinely for the first time and I got rare ships?

So I started Playing NMS genuinely for the first time and I was in a space station and two of these dumb looking ships landed simultaneously I bought them cuz I wanted to be like

“Hahaha Squid ship.” To my friend who plays the game with me turns out these are super rare?

I didn’t have coordinates or anything as I still don’t even have portals I just started watching YouTube vids on the game for the first time ever and everyone is saying

“People hunt for hundreds of hours looking for it and most don’t ever find it.”

I just wanted to know are these really rare I can prove I don’t have portals if possible, I’ve attached my current missions to show I haven’t gotten to far into the game I have like 50 or so hours in the game on my steam is says 157 but I left the game on after falling asleep assuming that was the only way for my O2 farm to work if I was online

I want to survey a whole region, what would the best method of charting be?

As we are all aware, just a single galaxy in NMS is large to the point that it’s difficult for the brain to fathom. We can read the number of systems on paper, but it’s a number to us that might as well be infinite.

To give me something to do, and to itch an old Sci-fi fantasy of mine, I’d like to boldly go where no man has gone before, but at a scale I believe I can handle which is discovering a whole region. That’s hundreds of systems.

Given we’re looking at a 3D map, there’s systems in all directions, what would the best methods of systematically exploring a region be?
