Sharing glyphs

I’ll admit to not properly understanding how the single player/multi-player/world generation works so apologies if this is a daft question….

I’ve stumbled on a system with a nice array of interesting ships. Whilst I was hanging around at the trading post to see what sort of exotic turned up I took pictures for the glyphs. As I understand it people can portal to this address and find these types of ship if they want.

Then the exotic turned up (in the space station as I was passing through) and it’s a squid. So naturally I bought it.

So here’s my silly question – as I’ve bought it can anyone go to the system and find one for themselves? If they turn off multi-player?

Pictures below – the glyphs on the squid correspond to the other planet in the system (there’s only two) where also you can find the chonky parrot boy in the last picture.

This system keeps on giving!

Euclid galaxy.

Many wings make light work

More cockpit than shuttle

Why the long face?

Experimental with an experimental haircut

Squid!

He’s not quite that big – I’m down the hill a bit!

PSA - You can collect many buried items from the surface (Cargo Pods, Ancient Bones, Salvaged Data a...

Many already know this but I also see enough posts talking about using the Terrain Manipulator to think this post could help out at least a handful of new Travellers.

Just stand in the correct spot and look down, use the Scanner to stand right above it, the option to hold your system’s button to interact should appear. Least obvious to me where crashed freighter cargo containers. It’s unusual I don’t have to do any digging to access them. I was pulling everything else from the surface for weeks before I realized I could also do cargo pods.

FYI – I haven’t tested this out underwater

On the other hand – the most common time I see people forget to use the Terrain Manipulator is when their objective is in the Ocean – If you swim there, build a platform you can call your ship to, remember to change the size of the block to the max size, it will make making the platform easier/quicker. Way quicker than swimming 800u+ back to your ship.

Please explain Voltaic Staff Spawning in 2024.

I’ve been researching staff colors and classes, but it seems a lot of the information I’m finding may be outdated, or I’m just not understanding it correctly. I’ve read that the staff head determines the build, but if I mark a staff terminal for future use, IE. I want to come back when I free up inventory space, I can’t seem to build the same staff again.

Here’s my scenario. I was exploring autophage camps, and found a particular staff color combo I liked. I dropped a save beacon, jumped up to the Anomaly to disassemble an A class MT I wanted to break down rather than exchange away. I then returned to the camp to claim my shiny new staff, but I can’t recreate the build!

In actual fact, this camp had two staff builds I wanted. One was color specific, and the other had a supercharged slot layout I wanted. I cannot recreate either.

For the record, I play on GOG. Do the staff builds vary from planet to planet like regular multi tool cabinets do?

Setting Up Frigate Missions

I honestly don’t know if I’m wasting my time crafting frigate upgrades.

I select frigates that match the mission type, making sure to have a 5-star rating. Most of my ships are S-class now. I add 3 frigate upgrades to each mission (also matching them to the mission type). I have several freighter upgrades that help with various things.

I genuinely don’t know if I’m getting better returns by including the frigate upgrades or not. I left them off yesterday and I actually got more stuff.

I just wonder what’s the best way to maximize the success of frigate missions.
