Please Sean?

Please Sean?

I’ve probably spent 10hrs building my freighter and still haven’t found a good way to section off rooms, the window acts as a functional barrier but is a window, I think a wall would make a wonderful wall. What are you guys doing to create rooms? I’ve found using straight corridors as lifeboats creates a fluid interruption in the space if on the outer edges of a freighter.

Tip of the Day

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but… You can build a bunch of these at your base(s) and get unlimited free stuff.

Item Quantity Chance
Di-hydrogen Jelly 1 14%
Geknip 1 3%
Gek Relic 1 20%
Ion Battery 1 6%
Korvax Casing 1 2%
Korvax Convergence Cube 1 5%
Microprocessor 1 20%
Oxygen Capsule 1 11%
Vy’keen Effigy 1 10%
Vy’keen Dagger 1 3%

Once placed, they take one hour in real time to fabricate a random container item. Once the item is fabricated, the container’s glow lines turn from red to green, and any player will be able to claim the item and restart the (one hour) fabrication process.

Item Quantity Chance
Antimatter 1 ?
Antimatter Housing 1 ?
33~35Condensed Carbon 1 ?
Navigation Data 1 ?
Warp Cell 1 ?

Once the item is fabricated, the canister’s glow lines turn from red to green, and any player with an AtlasPass v1 will be able to claim the item and restart the (one hour) fabrication process.

Just unlock the base-building parts in exchange for Salvaged Data the from the Construction Research Station in the Space Anomaly. Then place a bunch of them in your base(s), and score a bunch of free stuff every hour.

  • Ionised Cobalt x10 + Antimatter x1 → Crate Fabricator
  • Ionised Cobalt x10 + Antimatter x1 → Barrel Fabricator

Unification Day - the biggest, oldest annual No Man's Sky holiday - is in one month! If you represen...

Unification Day is a semi-fan-made, semi-canon holiday based in the No Man’s Sky simulation.

https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Unification_Day

Excerpt from a Distress Beacon at a Crashed Ship:

The logs reveal that the pilot was celebrating a festival known as ‘Unification Day’. Groups of similar minds, unable to meet but attempting to find one another, to claim worlds across time and space. Once a year their various alliances, federations, hubs, and empires united to remember all that they were, and could become in time…

This year, Unification Day is being organized by the Galactic Hub. That doesn’t mean it’s being hosted in our space, that just means I’m the one who is responsible for compiling the schedule and reaching out to participants.

So that’s what I’m doing! If you’re a member of a civilization, and you have any bases which would be suitable for hosting a Unification Day activity (minigame, PVP, racing, etc), let me know! I’ll also send you an invite to the Unification Day Council planning server.

Does the game has some depth after all those updates ?

Hi, I played nms on release, it was okay at first but quickly become really boring, the gameplay loop was really monotonous, the exploration was stale rather quickly, combat was shit, lore/story was inexistant, piloting was bad because you felt like your were on rail and there was nothing to do on space, planet were mono-biome with repetitive terrain, etc…

I played a couple hours then the update with the pets was released, it felt better but still a bit shallow (haven’t gone really far tho).

I’m now interested by the game on switch (which has no multiplayer and no settlements), and I’d like to know if some of the game subsystems gained some substantial depth, if the combat are now interesting (and has quests or thing like that that push you to combat), if the story/Lora has more importance, if the exploration feel less meaningless (like the random 2rooms outpost that wasn’t randomly placed there, etc..), etc… I’m not interested by the base-bulding aspect of the game tho.

New Ship Perk Suggestions

Long ago, NMS only allowed players to own a single ship, making it a major decision on which ship type a traveler should go after. However, realizing this felt clunky, updates have been made over the years, ship slots increased, new tech modules, and new features added. This was a great call, but it did leave one mark: the distinctions between each ship didn’t matter anymore; Haulers don’t even have the benefit of additional cargo space, since all S-class ships can have the same total number of slots.

I was talking ship perks with someone, and it got me thinking that perhaps it would make sense to introduce new strengths to less used ship types. As I was mulling it over, I realized that some of these changes would have to be pretty potent to stand up to current-day standards — poor Shuttles, their only real signature is that their takeoff price is reduced, made obsolete by the auto-recharge modules. So I decided to spitball a few ideas trying to stay true to the ship’s purpose while taking 2024 NMS in mind, and see if the following suggestions are strong enough to make you think “oh yeah, I’d definitely want to own a [ship type].”

Shuttles:

  1. 25% faster flight speed than others while in-atmosphere.
  2. 100% faster Pulse Drive speed.
  3. Takeoffs and landings are quicker and snappier.

Haulers:

  1. Cargo slots are double-sized, just like Freighters and storage containers.
  2. One storage augmentation slot unlocks two slots when used to unlock cargo slots.
  3. When the Teleport Receiver is installed, Hauler item teleport range is unlimited within the same star system.

Living:

  1. Increased chance of finding Space Encounters while pulsing. Alien Traders completely removed from encounter pool (Frequency 12 > 0). Odds of Rogue Black Hole and Relic Gate events tripled (Frequency 1 > 3).
  2. Eating food while in a ship refuels the ship’s hyper drive, pulse drive, launch thrusters, and damaged shields.

Explorer:

  1. Scanning one planet scans every planet in the system.
  2. Hyperdrive chain jumps. When setting a waypoint on the galactic map, can directly jump to that waypoint as long as the Explorer would have enough fuel to reach there, or up to 5 jumps (aka 5x listed hyperdrive range).

Let me know if these are along the right lines, and whether you’d fly one of these if they had these perks.

Just a Quick Appreciation

While I struggle with anxiety so it is difficult for me to egg myself into the multiplayer scene in the game, I just have to applaud ALL of you guys. This is the most non-toxic gaming community I think I’ve ever seen and I have been a gamer for a goood…

Too Many Low Difficulty Frigate Expeditions

I re-boarded my freighter after a lengthy reconnaissance mission and wanted to send my frigates out.

So, I visit The Navigator, and he gives me the list of expeditions (not Expeditions) and it’s all low star trips, three 2** and two 1*.

Would love to see more 3‘s, as well as any 4* and 5*****, which I’ve never seen. What’s up with that?

That’s all.

Gray, over and out.
