The house from oblivion was mentioned as a possible base build the other day.

The 2024 Teaser and Beyond Teaser are very similar. Both feature the exact same music, the exact same kind of zooming out (one in the new space stations, and one at the time the new Anomaly) I cannot help but think that this year will be different for NMS and that they are going to pass up on the small updates, and release something huge and significant this summer. The space stations were leaked almost a year ago, and were almost complete, except for the interior. I doubt that it took another whole year to design the interiors. My guess is there is a lot more to the update than just new space stations … I’m thinking a revamp of the whole game, with a whole new significant story. I think the updates over the past few years are building up to something significant. With all of the combat, pirates, new sentinels, autophage, dissonant worlds, the void mother lore, pirate dreadnought, and the known new space stations, I think there will be a huge new story to tie everyrhing together. I really hope this is the case, as I would love an update that gives me a reason to play for a long period of time, possibly start a new game … rather than these smaller updates that keep me occupied for a week or so. Expeditions would continue to be added to help keep us busy, but let’s hope for something amazing and huge in the summer!!! submitted by /u/joedotts |

It couldn’t be more perfect. It’s in a wealthy system. Peaceful conflict level. It’s a dissonant planet with rings. Sentinels are few and far between. Has lush green grass that is luminescent, as well as the flora. Crap tons of awesome fauna with cool colors, giant flying worms. It has the always fun and entertaining gravity storms with the cool pink bubbles. A bunch of huge underground cavernous lakes. Has an S Class Sentinel ship. Only wish I had been the one to discover it. But it was found about a week ago by someone named “DiePieDie”. So thank you whoever you are. submitted by /u/munkmetal1 |

I love building these! Every time it’s so much fun to design my own engine room, and everything about the ship. And when you pair building with skies like this, it almost brings a tear to my eyes. I like to play the scene and make it look like i…

I read somewhere that every planet has a portal on it. According to the advertising and the in-game dialog, there are over 18 quintillion planets in NMS total.
If the portal has 16 glyphs to choose from, and there are 12 glyphs in a portal address, that should be 16^12, which is over 281 trillion different portal addresses. So I read somewhere else there are 256 galaxies, and the portals are only intra-galaxy (cannot portal you to a different galaxy than the source), so if we multiply 281 trillion by 256, we get roughly 72 quadrillion portal addresses spread over the 256 galaxies. That’s 3 orders of magnitude shy of 18 quintillion.
Is some of this information incorrect, or am I missing something else? Or could it be that not every planet has a portal? I would think some of the barren ones might not, since they seem to have no other buildings, but I don’t usually spend much time on them.
I would think it’s not realistically possible for anyone to scour an entire planet manually searching for a portal, so it would be extremely difficult to visually prove that no portal exists on any given planet, but unless some of those numbers are wrong, I would think it has to be that some planets don’t contain portals.
Just feeling extra math-nerdy tonight, and was curious if anyone had any information about the claim that every planet had a portal.
