Playing solo - Is it steeling

I’m relatively new to this game and playing solo (PS4 VR).

I don’t really understand the “solo” concept in NMS and hope you can help.

So i entered a system with dozens of player bases (about 90 all over the 5 planets).

I decided to go check 2 base and was surprise to be able to enter both (an underwater base and a farming base).

Inside it has farming stuff with robot-like-arm for collecting. I collected it all which worth few millions (also collect 5 “achievements” in 10 seconds and now i’m an “expert” at farming… just like that).

The underwater base was open too and the was an marine exocraft standing right there free to collect (i try to take it but missing an element to make the fuel).

Is it normal playing “solo”?

Most important thing, did i screw up the other player?

How do you people get the expedition done so quickly?

Preface this by saying I’m a noob and playing on psvr2. Seems like every little expedition mission I need to do is this long drawn out chore. Need to build windows. Ok I don’t have the stuff to make glass. Gotta figure out how to go through the menus to figure out what I need. Then I gotta find the thing I need in the journal and tell it to tell me where to get it. Then I go to the place and find out I need a hazmat gauntlet. So I have to do back to base to refine materials for that. And on and on and on.

I spent at least an hour trying to find the airless planet but eventually I found one. Now I have to find a outlaw system. I go and research and get a trade scanner. Nothing under the trade section from the planets I’ve seen in galaxy map indicates outlaw system? So now I’m just randomly warping to whatever the green line is pointing to hoping I’ll get multiple options and one of them will look outlaw like?

Where is the guide that tells me what the various system symbols mean?

People saying this expedition takes like 6-10 hours or less… Lies. I got kids man.
