I just came back to the game after having not played for around three years. I read a thread on here about how when you encounter you first freighter fight, you can go to the space station, save, and then fly to the freighter and if it’s S class, you accept it, if not, you reload. So I proceeded with the plan, fully ready to spend the next few hours reloading until I got an S class… and then, yes, the very first freighter I landed on was this beauty. So I keep dying because I play late night after work and family stuff and fall asleep – heat, radiation, etc… I’ve lost millions of units value of resources – the typical find the grave next to my ship or last save point and it’s empty because already died multiple times. Then have to pick myself up, jump into ship find a more hospitable planet, gather resourcea and repair and rebuild.
Besides, log off before I fall asleep, any other recourse? I’m new and don’t have an exocraft, would that be enough protection while I mine and explore…I actually love to mine and scan the fauna for units and nanites.

I’m 8 hours into a No starter ship permadeath run.
I’m still 4 hours from a distress signal but came across a Planetary Archive and thought all my troubles were over… nope!
The cheapest ship that’s landed in the past hour was 3-4m units and by cleaning out all the local caves I have 1m units
2 questions,
Should I hang around here and hope something with fewer slots lands next time
What’s the best way to make 2m units on a permadeath run? 500 cobalt is getting me 38K
