NMS HOT POST

Dear No Man's Sky Devs

Dear No Man's Sky Devs

Ik that the community has been asking a lot recently but personally I LOVE collecting exotic creatures but there’s just not enough creature space and this had led me to abandoning some of my most beloved creatures so I think I speak for quite a lot of people when I say that I think we need more creature space so that we don’t have to abandon them, ik that this post probably won’t come to the devs light but if someone can make this get heard this would be greatly appreciated (P.S sorry for the crappy image quality)

Falling in love all over again...

For Reference: I pre-ordered No Man’s Sky when it was first announced specifically because they said it would support VR. I played it on the PS VR first generation and had a great time.

Flash Forward to today. I’ve had the PS VR2 for a couple of weeks, but no time to play it. This morning I fired up NMS and the VR2. If I didn’t need to stop to go to the bathroom I would still be there. I’m falling in love with VR and NMS all over again. The graphical upgrade, the haptics in the controllers and the headset, did I mention the graphics. The 3D audio with the Sony Headset is perfect, fits comfortably and sounds phenomenal.

All in All, I’m ecstatic! BRAVO!

Please let Light No Fire have VR support. I’m ready!

P.S. I love this so much, I posted it in the PSVR2 and Light No Fire subreddits as well.

PSA: "Omega" does not necessarily mean "the end". Don't assume anything about th...

This seems to come up in every thread about Expedition 12: Omega, the upcoming expedition and update that is currently in beta for PC players who want to test it out. Streamers have little else to do but speculate and spoil, so perhaps some of the anxiety comes from watching them, too.

There are separate teams for Hello Games projects. This happened with The Last Campfire – NMS continued to be updated both during its development and after its release. There’s no reason to think Light No Fire, despite being visually and possibly plot-wise more connected to NMS, is going to “take away” from NMS development and updates. “Omega” has meanings other than “the end” – the symbol is used in many ways in science and math. And does anything ever really end in No Man’s Sky, anyway?

Honestly, I don’t think anything other than the announcement of a direct sequel to NMS would be reason to be worried. But in that case, we’d be looking forward to a whole new chapter in the same universe anyway!

About phylosophy of No Man's Sky (story spoilers)

I didn’t expect the plot of this game to capture my attention as it did, but it touches upon one of my favourite phylosophical topics. This game is very hard of phylosophy of existentialism and Nietzchean nihilism. It quite literally tackless the idea of death of god. But if Nietzche meant it in metaphorical way, on a sense of how one can find meaning in life where there’s no god, but No Man’s Sky takes a more literal approach. God is quite literally dying and you are faced with the idea of your own mortality and finality of the universe. Also, we find out that Altals is an AI that simulates the world, thus mirroring Nietzschean idea of ‘dead god’. We are not some beings created by a divine master with a plan, we are here just because we happened to be here. But in the case of Travellers, they were actually created by a diety with a plan, but their existance in the end is meaningless in a similiar way, because they’re nothing more than simulations in the mind of a dying machine. Here’s where the idea of Nietzschean ‘overhuman’ and nihilism comes in. The core idea of nihilism is belief in no god and the finality of your existance, it’s directed towards accepting the fact that you won’t be here for an eternity and that you should make peace with nothing that may come after. The ‘overhuman’ of Nietzsche is an individual that is capable of setting their own goals and morals, deciding for themselves what they should do with their life in the face of absense of a higher divine purpose. The main question of phylosophy of overhuman is how can one be happy in the world where there’s no higher purpose and no life after death? How one can fight against existential terror that comes with understanding of you own mortality? Even Atlas faces their own finality and are terrified of it. This is the core idea of No Man’s Sky and it is fascinating!

Name of this music??

As we know each time we boot up No Man’s Sky we’re greeted by a short interlude of music and this particular piece is by far my favourite.

However, I’m struggling to narrow down the actual name of the piece.

If anyone’s able to drop the name for it would be awesome!

Apologies on the Xbox clip in where you’re staring at my mission log, only way I could hear it clearly without background sounds
