I just got the game….

….. there is so much to do!!! And the flying and ships and side quests and base building and freighters….

….I can already feel the sleep deprivation coming…

I am loving this game.

What are some SMALL additions or changes you'd like to see added to the game?

Every time I see feature wishlists discussed, all I see is huge new features, or massive overhauls to existing features, like ship customization, owning space stations, or faction wars. But the devil’s in the details. What are some tiny additions or changes that you want added? I’ll go first:

  • Recolor the Minotaur Hardframe – I love my minotaur, and I want to love the Hardframe upgrades, but blue is just not my color.

  • Move sentinel weapons to sentinel pillars – seems like a no brainer.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this..

As a day 1 player of this game, and someone who has only stuck around in recent years to keep up with the progress and updates, I have decided to finally shelve No Man’s Sky. With as much as 1,000 hours of gameplay under my belt, I feel I’m entitled to have an opinion and share it with the world.

1). The repetition is on a whole other level. Once you’ve seen between 20 and 40 planets, you’ve basically seen what the entire universe has to offer.

2). You can see what an entire planet has to offer within 100 yards of wherever you land your ship.

3). The fact that there’s life in just about every single star system, completely strips the game of any enjoyment I’d usually get from adventure and exploration. —- If life were on 1 planet per every 50 to 100 star systems, it would make finding life all the more rewarding and worthwhile.

4). The planets with life do not feel very lively, given the fact that, there’s usually less than 20 creatures to discover. Hell, the oceans should be teeming with life, like Subnautica. I mean, have any of you ever gone on a nature walk? There are so many sounds and an unbelievable amount of activity.

This is what No Man’s Sky is lacking.

All of that said, I’m going to be preparing for STARFIELD, now. It’s time for something new.

I Shouldn't Have Done That

I’m a 36 year old man, and tonight this game made me yelp in genuine terror. So first a little backstory. I’ve only been playing for about a month now, and tonight I discovered my first planet with water on it. Now, since none of you know me, I have a very real, and very extreme fear of being submerged in water, and ashamedly, this carries over into video games as well. Despite my fear of water I decided to jump into this deep lake I discovered on said planet to see what was in it because up until this point I’ve yet to come across any hostile animals besides the ones that show up when you steal a whispering egg.

So as I’m swimming around scanning all the plants and animals, I see an icon that says “Alluring Specimen” so naturally I had to go and investigate. This, was a bad idea. I swim over to where the waypoint is and I see an option to collect an item, so without thinking, I grab it. If swimming over here was a bad idea, taking that object was a far worse idea, because suddenly I see “biological horror detected”. From out of this giant plant looking thing emerges what I can only describe as a very pissed off anglerfish looking thing swimming right for me. I fucking freaked out! I yelped out of sheer terror, my heart started racing, and let me tell you, my jetpack could not get me the fuck out of that water fast enough. I got back in my ship, and I left that planet behind, because FUCK THAT! I did come out though with something called a Hadal Core, whatever that is.
