For Expedition 3, I’ve noticed most people I’ve seen are saying finding an abandoned building for the larval cores is hard, which it was for me as well. Since part of the expedition requires you to travel FTL, you need those cores to fix the ship. Here…

I got this idea after I noticed I’m struggling to get forbidden exosuit module with good set of buffs and high rolls. Here you can see table with possible buffs and min/max range. For me most important buff is fuel efficiency, then shield strength and on 3rd place are both life support tank and core health. 1)https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Forbidden_Exosuit_Module 2)https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Salvaged_Upgrade_Components They both have same set of buffs and min/max range, and when dismantled they both drop same components. This makes me think coding behind both of them is the same (this doesn’t mean I am right, I just think I am). Now its up to you to decide whether you believe me or not. But to have any kind of results I decided to pop today 2000 more rebuilt exosuit modules. I added numbers manually for easier understanding And here are other 2 modules which I think are the best: It was relatively easy (~1:40-50) to get 4 other buffs (other than fuel efficiency) with high rolls, but up till that moment it was impossible to get 30% fuel efficiency + ANY 3 other buffs, best I got was 30% fuel efficiency + 2 other buffs. Now results from today’s 2000 rebuilt exosuit modules: It was also easy (~1:40) to get 20+ fuel efficiency and 2 other buffs. Examples (ignore warning): While popping modules I noticed there is some kind of “rubber band effect”, where when you got 4 desired buffs, fuel efficiency will be very low + 3 high roll buffs. Or fuel efficiency low, life support tank low, other 2 high rolls. It feels like you can never get all 4 high rolls. Most of modules with 4 desired buffs looked like this: Sometimes (~1:800) modules with 4 desired buffs look like this: It was VERY HARD (~1:105) to find 20+% fuel efficiency with 3 other buffs. All 19 examples (ignore warning): It was EXTREMELY HARD (1:1000) to find 30% fuel efficiency with 3 other buffs. I found only 2 from today’s 2000 modules. Conclusion After popping 2200 sentinel exosuit fragments I didn’t get SINGLE module with 30% fuel efficiency, and any 3 other buffs. Got only one half decent module with 20+% fuel efficiency. After popping 3000 rebuilt exosuit modules I got 3 modules with 30% fuel efficiency, and any 3 other buffs. If you don’t care about fuel efficiency then you should definitely grind for module with 4 buffs with high rolls. But if you are like me – no, I think it’s not worth. Even when you get 20+% fuel efficiency at least one of other 3 buffs is ass.Possible solutions? Giving players ability to copy 1 of modules with “blank module” which could maybe be obtainable from weekly nexus mission. New game mechanic – “karma” which you can build up by helping NPCs on planets and in space. The more you help, the more luck you will have, and both amount of buffs, and rolls will be higher. Depending on how interesting this topic is, I may do something similar with suspicious modules for mining laser and movement. If you hate yourself, or don’t care about your sanity you can try this yourself. Tell me later what results you got. submitted by /u/Pleasureasaur |

I found a little island that has a completely open middle so I thought it would be fun to build a Mortal Kombat inspired fighting area. It’s based around the idea of having a stage fatality since the drop in the middle is so far. Turned out okay…

This is an unpopular opinion by me. It’s OK if you don’t agree. Please be civil in the comments. Also I’m on mobile so apologies for any strange formatting.
TLDR: We should not actively ignore griefers, we should instead think and talk about why and how bases are getting griefed, and how Hello Games could implement systems to better prevent it in the future.
The problem: Popular and iconic bases within player groups are getting griefed because of an exploit. Defending your base is next to impossible due to the way PVP and base building is currently implemented.
Possible solutions:
“Captian Obvious: Bug Fixes!”: Make it known to Hello Games that the base griefing exploit is a real and tangible issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Build permissions should be set to OWNER ONLY by default to help noob players.
“Sorry, we’re closed!”: Allow Base Owners to “Lockdown” their base, preventing any players from entering “locked” doors. Exiting should still be possible to avoid players getting locked in cages, another form of griefing. One way doors? “Emergency escape” hatch?
“Sorry, no multi-tool building allowed inside!”: For larger or “tourism” based builds, allow base owners to place “zones” where your Multi Tool Build Menu is inaccessible (Pressing up on the D-pad doesn’t open anything), like in Space Stations or the Anomaly, and building anything is impossible. Basically like a spectator mode but you can still mine rocks if you need resources. This one does not prevent the Terrain Manipulator grief, maybe disable the terrain manipulator while in range too? I dunno!
“PVP overhaul or update”: Personally, I don’t want fully realized PvP in NMS. It leads to toxic behavior and bullying in sandbox games like this. (Think ARK survival evolved alpha clans for example). Instead have PVP damage disabled by default, and allow players to enable it if they want to duke it out for fun with their friends.
Do you have any ideas? Please share them below. Remember this is a discussion thread, please keep it civil. Thank you for reading!

I’d love to be able to see other people’s ship names (and stats). Especially now that you can build your own ship, I’m sure a lot of people have interesting ship names and/or stories.
Same goes for pets and freighters. We’ve got it for base names so why not for everything else?

Absolutely miniscule hauler I found. It’s roughly the same size as the Radiant Pillar. bought it and all the other haulers in the same system are normal sized now. submitted by /u/studier_of_the_blade |
