Someone actually build a happy Gek family. I’m impressed!

I was originally sold on the game when it was first announced by the very first trailer that came out showing those awesome alien worlds and all of the cool creatures and landscapes. I’ve been around for all the updates, and while they have added much …

I’ve seen videos and some articles that have complained about NMS being an “overglorified base building game” or “next gen minecraft” but I can’t even believe that people would take that opinion given the amount of content in the game!!
I’m 20ish hours in, have a pretty shitty square base that just holds my base computer save point and storage units, and the story of the game + exploring planets and documenting fauna alone has been MORE than worth the 60 dollars I’ve payed for this game.
Not only that, I’m not even close to getting to the center of the galaxy, hell I haven’t even found Artemis yet (if that actually happens?) and I already feel as if I’ve gotten my money’s worth just from the story and exploration alone.
All this being said, 20 hours of story and insane exploration to not even be halfway through the game, not even having a new ship yet, and I’m blown away that I’d seen people label it as a base building game. Totally ridiculous!!!
NMS rules.

I have played nms for quite a while and i absolutely love this game, but building bases really drew me away from it. I know it is a major gameplay mechanic, but is there a way to maoe it feel less overwhelming and a bit more casual?
Edit: Thanks for everyone who answered! Apparently freighters can work just as movable bases, which seems exactly like what i’d enjoy. I feel a lot more motivated to going back to this game now o7

As title says, I was playing my 52 hour extreme mode save, in Wich I had an S ship, an S sentinel freighter, and was looking for a living ship. And when I finally arrived at the planet in Wich you look for the souls, as soon as I get out of my ship, I got killed by a random guy in a ship, so if you’re reading this, thanks for ruining my save. I remind you that killing players doesn’t reward you.

They made the world feel so much more real and lived-in. The new space station are cool but the lack of those rooms and of seating in general make them feel way more sterile. submitted by /u/Many-Bees [link] [comments]

Sometimes we try to be amazing and make others laugh and then there’s times when you come up on a little critter and see that sometimes the universe wants to make you laugh. submitted by /u/AccomplishedTrade172 |
