I choose violence!
So, finally gotten my hands on the game!
Followed the launch, and updates since, and have been interested in both the concept and history. But I have never had anything to play it on. Been years since I was a "gamer", and havent wanted to since I spent way to much time on WoW. But when SOs kid upgraded from the Switch to a multiple monitor PC set up there was a free medium.
Well, the graphics aint all that, compared to what I have seen online, but I gather that has more with the limits of the switch than the games potential?
The game is massive! And a head ache to start. Where to go, what to do, all these things I need. Starter planet was an ice world, and time above ground had to be short at first.
Once I figured out and actually remembed various short cuts it got better, but charging the shield while fighting a Starship freestyle was time consuming. Now its a breeze with follow and lock on functions.
So, I have spent a lot of time gathering materials, getting blueprints and setting up a few bases, all the while hoarding valuables in a very limited storage. I am obviously still very poor in reference to the cost of upgrades and ships that I have targeted, but have read about crashing the stock market so I have been grinding stockpiles of materials.
One thing I havent done is fight on ground, until I was forced to. There was this base I had to break the door to get into, and that triggered sentiels. One was ok to keep track off and shot at, then two came, three, and they have repair bots? Now that it cheating!
Before I could retreat I was dead.
I didnt panick before I opend up my precious exo inventory and saw that all my hard work was gone. Opend up the log to pause the game, read on my phone about the grave and hurried over there. Got my loot back and breathed normalt again. Called my ship to the base and jumped in ready to buck it, obviously I needed to be better prepared. But then, all my storage in the exo suit was gone again. I dont know if this is a bug or my mistake, the game do crash at least once during a sessions, and at other times lag pretty hard.
But, my path has been set. I choose violence!
It has been all grind since that, getting a better multi tool with weapons upgrade, and upgrading my still starter ship with the purple weapons upgrades. And I cant wait to get to invite that old warrior to my weapons station that I will build next to the base where I first died. You did this to me Sean.
So this will be my path forward. I even shot jelly fish out of space just because I can.
Now take that game!
