I don’t understand how a game as big as No Mans Sky doesn’t have an option where you can modify your ship, change its parts, put parts of other ships, and also other types of ships, whenever you arrive at a space station you always see the same type of ships with just a few changes, with more customization options on ships and more ship types, No Mans Sky would be almost the perfect game.

So to preface, I’m very early game on my first run and still learning everything (In my 4th system after my 3rd was following up the Rebel Star quest). I’ve got stacks of navigation data taking up too much inventory space so I decide to to spend some at the cartographer and buy a settlement location map, thinking it would reveal one of those trade post minor settlements. Instead I am delightedly surprised to find myself the new overseer and be introduced to the settlement management mechanic. Cool. Unfortunately, I’m also constantly fighting off sentinels, which is odd because the settlement stats only list 22% next to what I assume is supposed to be sentinel aggro, but they seem pretty dang mad. Also why is the ground just lousy with gravitino balls? Eventually I figured out what that “Aggressive Sentinels” tag on the planet meant.
So yeah, it turn out these settlers thought it would be a great idea to set up shop on an irradiated hellscape of a planet that spends 98% of its time under a radiation storm AND also has aggressive attack on sight sentinels. Probably just so they can “In my day…” their future kids. Cut to me dodging fire in the blinding radiation storm just trying to drop off the materials to get the overseer office built. At least I can teleport in now for any decisions, but a single step out the door and it’s a warzone.
This can’t be the intended means of introducing the settlement mechanic, right? There was probably a much gentler tutorial quest line somewhere down the line that I have vaulted right past because I just wanted to spend the nav data taking up space.

I have two best friends who stopped playing NMS for a really long time because of their job (I have a job too). I felt a little bit sad that time. After several days, I found out about the squadron feature. I’m like, okay, this is cool. I have starships to fight with me when doing pirate missions. Hours later, I thought maybe I could recruit a pilot who has the same ship as my bois. It’s so awesome when there’s a freighter battle or conflict; they will warp in then engage, I really feel like I’m fighting with them. Every so often, I even let them have the last hit. Sometimes when roaming in space, I’ll call my squadron to feel like I’m playing with them. We’re still active in chats though, and that’s why I’m not that sad. I just thought I’d share it here :> submitted by /u/Cozzy-Bear |

Hey Travellers, Traveller “SunZenShow” here with some tips for finding (not buying) an Exotic ship while also making a Vy’keen’s hoard worth of units and nanites. You’ll want to start off with about 20 (or more… more the better) navigation data. Best w…

I’ve got about 2000 hours between Xbox and PC. I bought the Switch version on launch and it was so-so. I mean I didn’t really expect MUCH in the way of performance.
Must have been one of the recent updates, but holy HELL how did the developers do this!? Between game engine optimization and the raw talent of the HG team, I am beside myself.
I don’t want to reach too deep into my pocket full of dreams but I hope Light No Fire comes to Switch as well. I was literally about to sell my OLED last week until I fired up NMS again.
